Hey Matt,

My custom squirrelmail installation includes spam filtering, but it says that "SpamFilters_YourHop" needs to be enabled.

Is that a strain on the server?

Why are you filtering spam at the mail client level instead of server? That is inefficient as it will probably go through every message to parse spam. If that is the case you will be severely beaten. Setup a Maildrop filter or use a preconfigured one -> http://apisnetworks.com/saconfig.php

I'm already using server-level spam filtering, I was just wondering if there was any benefit to squirrelmail filtering too.

Some spam is still slipping through so I'm slowly trying to make sure more and more gets caught.

Sigh.

X-Spam-Status: No, score=0.0 required=4.0 tests=ADVANCE_FEE_1,
DK_POLICY_SIGNSOME autolearn=ham version=3.1.7

And it's obviously spam. I need to kick this thing into gear.

Forward me a copy of that message - msaladna@apisnetworks.com

Done. It's the only such spam mail that wasn't tagged or even received a score. The others, while being shorter, received a score but not sufficient for SA to catch them.

Spamcop'll get them from me tonight.
