There was a temporary network outage resulting in high latencies and large amounts of packet loss across all servers this afternoon between 12:38 PM and 1:11 PM EDT -0400 GMT. The official word from the data center handling the connectivity is as follows:
The official word at this time is "we had an unusually large amount of inbound traffic affect multilple subnets resulting in latency and packet loss". I do not have a list of the effected subnets at this time, but I want to assure everyone that our Network staff are busy at this very moment identifying and correcting the problems that have come up due to this attack.
As the situation progresses and the Networking team can take a breath to give us a more detailed update, we will all work very hard to relay this information to you.
I will keep everyone posted if more events develop, but at this time everything appears to be up and fully functional.
